Planning a trip to Japan? Air India is adding a new route that could make your journey more convenient. Passengers will be able to fly directly from Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport to Osaka’s Kansai International Airport without a stopover. Air India will use its Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft for the new service.

When Will Air India’s Delhi–Osaka Flights Begin?

Air India will launch its non-stop Delhi–Osaka flights on February 2, 2027. The airline plans to operate four flights a week in each direction. The new service will connect Delhi (DEL) with Osaka’s Kansai International Airport (KIX). It will also make Osaka Air India’s second destination in Japan after Tokyo.

Air India already operates daily flights from Delhi to Tokyo’s Haneda Airport and four weekly flights from Mumbai to Haneda. With Osaka joining its network, travelers will have another option when planning a trip to Japan. According to the airline, it will be the only carrier offering non-stop flights between Delhi and Osaka when the service begins.

Air India will operate flight AI360 from Delhi at 10:50 p.m., arriving in Osaka at 9:50 a.m. the following day. It will run on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. The return flight, AI359, will depart Osaka at 11:50 a.m. and arrive in Delhi at 6:20 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. All times are local.

What Facilities Will Air India Offer on Delhi–Osaka Flights?

Air India will use Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft on the new route. Passengers can choose between Business Class and Economy Class. The aircraft will offer:

  • 18 Business Class seats: These seats convert into fully flat beds, offering passengers more comfort during the journey.
  • 241 Economy Class seats: These seats offer an option for travelers looking for a more affordable way to fly.
  • 259 seats in total: Each aircraft has 259 seats in the announced configuration.

Travelers can choose their seats based on their budget and travel needs. Before booking, passengers should also check the airline’s latest baggage rules, onboard services, and ticket conditions.

How Will the New Delhi–Osaka Flights Benefit Travelers?

The biggest benefit of the new service is that passengers can travel from Delhi to Osaka without a stopover. Travelers who previously needed a connecting flight will have a direct option on the four days each week that Air India operates the route. The new service could also make it easier to explore other parts of Japan. Osaka is a convenient starting point for trips to nearby cities such as Kyoto and Nara.

Passengers planning to visit several Japanese cities can consider flying into Osaka and returning from Tokyo. This way, they may avoid returning to their arrival city solely to catch their flight home. The route will also offer another way for passengers from other Indian cities to reach Japan through connections in Delhi.

What Are the Best Places to Visit in Osaka?

Osaka has plenty to offer, whether you enjoy sightseeing, shopping, local cuisine, or family activities.

Osaka Castle: One of the city’s best-known landmarks. Visitors can explore the historic castle grounds and surrounding park.

Dotonbori: A lively area filled with restaurants, shops, and street food. It’s a popular place to experience Osaka’s food culture.

Universal Studios Japan: A major theme park with rides and attractions for families and entertainment lovers.

Kyoto and Nara: Both cities are popular side trips from Osaka. Travelers can explore temples, traditional streets, and historic sites.

With direct flights to Osaka, Indian travelers will have another convenient way to begin their trip to Japan.

Air India’s new Delhi–Osaka non-stop flights will give travelers another option for visiting Japan. Starting February 2, 2027, the airline will operate four weekly services using Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft. The route will make it easier to reach Osaka and explore nearby destinations without taking a connecting flight.
