Aerospace giant, Boeing’s new aircraft model, 777x has been making waves in the aviation industry. After receiving significant orders from nearly all major airlines, Boeing is looking forward to making its first delivery. Ending all speculations, Lufthansa was announced Boeing 777x first customer. 

Germany’s flagship carrier, Lufthansa is set to become the world’s first airline to operate Boeing 777-9. The airline expects to get the delivery in 2026. Notably, Lufthansa’s current order includes 27 Boeing 777x aircraft. This comprises both the 777-9 and 777-8 variants. 

What will the Boeing 777x first customer get?

Lufthansa is set to be the first airline to get Boeing 777x spacious and modern cabin. The upgraded cabins will have a wider interior. This will increase to 235 inches compared to 231 inches in the previous 777 models. Passenger comfort will further enhance with 18-inch-wide seats in a 10-abreast economy class cabin. 

The Boeing 777x also includes larger windows, higher ceilings and better insulation, which was inspired by the Boeing 787 Dreamliner. In order to reduce passenger fatigue on long-haul flights, it will also include improved humidity control and lower cabin altitude of 6,000 feet. According to sources, Lufthansa can use the new Boeing 777-9 for its long-haul routes; and USA is a likely destination. What’s special about the Boeing 777x?

The Boeing 777X is set to become the world’s largest twin-engine jet. It features enhanced aerodynamics, advanced engines, and higher fuel efficiency. The aircraft’s unique design will provide better passenger comfort and reduced operational costs for airlines.

Major Airlines with a Boeing 777x Order

Nearly all major carriers have placed an order for the new Boeing 777x jets. Emirates placed the largest order for 205 Boeing 777x aircraft. Etihad Airways and Qatar Airways have placed an order for 25 and 94 units respectively. Notably, Air India placed an order for 10 Boeing 777x in a bid to upgrade its fleet.
