Air India has expanded its loyalty benefits by allowing Air India Maharaja Club members to earn Maharaja Points on Air India Express flights. This update is important for travelers who frequently fly across India, Southeast Asia, and West Asia.

The move strengthens the Air India frequent flyer programme by making Maharaja Points more useful across the Air India Group network. Members can now earn Points on eligible flights when booking through Air India, Air India Express, mobile apps, and major travel agents and OTAs.

Air India Frequent Flyer Programme Benefits for Travelers

With this update, passengers making Air India Express bookings may add Maharaja Club ID during booking and earn points on eligible flights. These flights will also help members progress toward higher loyalty tiers. However, members should note that points cannot be claimed retrospectively in the current rollout phase. This means travelers must enter Club ID at the time of booking.

How Members Earn Maharaja Points

• Maharaja Points will be calculated on the base fare and fuel surcharge. 
• The earning structure depends on the member’s tier and booking channel. 
• Members booking through the Air India Express website or app earn 8 to 12 points.
• Bookings made through other channels earn 6 to 10 points. 
• Red, Silver, Gold, and Platinum members will earn different point values based on their loyalty tier.

This makes the Air India Maharaja Club more rewarding for regular flyers, especially those who use Air India Express for domestic and short-haul international travel.

Redeeming Points on Air India Express Flights

Members can also redeem Maharaja Points for eligible flights operated by  Air India Express that have Air India’s ‘AI’ flight code. These redemptions are currently available through the Air India website and mobile app. Award flight redemptions start from 1,500 Maharaja Points. 

Some routes include Bengaluru-Chennai, Ahmedabad-Kolkata, Bengaluru-Bangkok, Dimapur-Guwahati, Bengaluru-Goa, Mumbai-Goa, Bengaluru-Kozhikode, Bengaluru-Mumbai, Delhi-Bengaluru, Mumbai-Abu Dhabi, Amritsar-Dubai, and Kochi-Bahrain. This expansion is a major update in Air India aviation news, as it brings Air India and Air India Express loyalty benefits closer under one group travel experience.
