Kuwait Ends Visa
Source: ChatGPT

Kuwait will end its temporary visit visa extensions and additional absence permits on September 1, 2026. The country will then return to its standard visa and residency procedures. This decision affects visitors currently in Kuwait and expatriate residents staying abroad. People covered by the temporary relief should review their status before the changes take effect.

Why Did Kuwait Extend Visit Visas?

Kuwait introduced temporary immigration relief after regional conflict, airspace closures and flight cancellations disrupted travel earlier in 2026. Some visitors could not leave before their visas expired, while residents abroad struggled to return within the permitted period.

To support affected travelers, the Ministry of Interior automatically extended eligible visit visas by one month. Visitors did not have to visit a Residency Affairs office or submit a separate application. The government also gave eligible residents outside the country an additional three-month absence permit. Authorities processed the permits electronically and waived the related fees. These emergency measures helped people manage unexpected travel disruptions. The temporary relief will end as Kuwait restores its normal procedures.

What Will Change on September 1, 2026?

From September 1, Kuwait’s standard visit visa rules will apply again. Visitors must follow the expiry date shown in their official records. The government will also stop granting automatic absence permit extensions under the emergency arrangement.

Expatriate residents who remain abroad must return by the deadline listed in their documents. Travelers should no longer depend on the earlier relief measures. Each person must review their status and take action before the permitted period ends.

What Should Visit Visa Holders Do?

Visitors currently in Kuwait should check their visa expiry date and confirm how long they can legally remain in the country. They should:

  • Review the expiry date in their official immigration record.
  • Confirm whether their visa received the temporary extension.
  • Arrange their departure before the approved stay ends.
  • Contact Residency Affairs if they find incorrect information.
  • Follow Ministry of Interior announcements for further updates.

Visitors should not expect another automatic extension after September 1. Overstaying may lead to fines or other action under Kuwait’s immigration rules.

What Happens to Residents Outside Kuwait?

The decision also applies to expatriate residents who received more time to stay outside Kuwait. Kuwait introduced these permits for people who could not return because of airspace restrictions and flight cancellations.

Eligible residents who leave Kuwait on or before August 31 may retain the additional absence period granted under the temporary arrangement. However, the exact deadline may differ for each individual. Residents can check the expiry date of their absence permit on the residency certificate in the Sahel app. They should return before the deadline shown on the certificate. Since absence limits may vary by residency category, people should not rely only on general information or social media posts.

What Should Indian Nationals Know?

The return of regular immigration procedures is important for Indian visitors and expatriate residents. Indian nationals currently visiting Kuwait should confirm the final date of their authorized stay. Residents outside the country should review their absence permit through the Sahel app. They should also check their passport validity, residency status and flight schedule before starting their journey.

People with unusual circumstances should contact Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior, the Residency Affairs Department or the nearest Kuwaiti embassy or consulate. Official guidance can help them avoid visa or residency issues.

Kuwait’s temporary measures supported visitors and residents during a period of serious travel disruption. From September 1, 2026, the country will restore its regular immigration procedures.

Visitors should leave before their authorized stay ends, while residents abroad should return by the date shown in their Sahel certificate. Since conditions may differ for each person, travelers should verify their status through official channels before finalizing their plans.

Once travelers confirm their documents and travel dates, they can explore Indian Eagle deals to find affordable international flights between India and the USA.

 Airlines for Business Travelers

Business travelers often fly several times each month. They need reliable schedules, direct routes, flexible ticket rules and comfortable seats. Fast Wi-Fi, airport lounges and useful rewards can also make work trips easier. U.S. News & World Report included five major carriers in its 2026–2027 ranking of the best US airlines for business travelers. The list considers flight availability, reliability, loyalty benefits, comfort and fares.

United Airlines

United Airlines offers a wide route network and several daily flight options. It serves major business markets such as Chicago, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, Newark, San Francisco and Washington Dulles. The large network gives professionals more departure times and connection choices. United may suit people who frequently travel across different US regions or take international flights. Eligible frequent flyers can also receive benefits such as priority airport services and same-day confirmed flight changes.

Delta Air Lines

Delta provides seatback entertainment and Wi-Fi on many aircraft. Passengers may need a SkyMiles account to access free Wi-Fi, and availability can vary by plane. The carrier also performs well in on-time operations and baggage handling. Delta Sky Clubs provide workspaces, food, drinks and quiet areas at several major airports. Delta connects travelers through major airports in New York, Atlanta, Detroit, Boston, Seattle, Salt Lake City,  Los Angeles, and Minneapolis. Comfortable cabins, reliable operations and helpful amenities make it a strong option for corporate flyers.

American Airlines

American Airlines serves large cities and smaller business destinations across the country. Its extensive network can help professionals find direct flights, avoid long connections and reach meetings faster. American operates hubs in Charlotte, Chicago O’Hare, Dallas–Fort Worth, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Philadelphia, Phoenix and Reagan National Airport. The AAdvantage loyalty program provides different benefits based on membership level. Eligible members may receive priority services, seat upgrades and other travel perks. American may work well for people who need direct routes, multiple departure options and access to smaller US cities.

Alaska Airlines

Alaska Airlines has a strong presence across the West Coast and Pacific region. It connects cities such as Seattle, Portland, Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego, Anchorage and Honolulu. The Atmos Rewards program lets eligible members earn points through flights and partner services. They can use these rewards for future work or personal trips. Qualifying frequent flyers may also receive priority services and seat upgrades. Alaska may suit West Coast professionals who value useful rewards and convenient regional connections.

Southwest Airlines

Southwest Airlines offers many competitively priced domestic flights. It also performs well in important areas such as operational reliability. Same-day change options can help professionals when meetings end early or work schedules change. However, fees and availability may depend on the ticket type. Southwest has a strong presence at Baltimore, Dallas Love Field, Denver and Houston Hobby. Its domestic routes may benefit people who regularly travel through these cities. Companies should compare ticket rules, baggage charges and seat fees before booking.

How Should Business Travelers Choose an Airline?

One carrier may not meet every person’s needs. Before booking, professionals should compare:

  • Direct routes from their nearest airport
  • Number of daily departures
  • Change and cancellation rules
  • On-time performance
  • Seat comfort and power outlets
  • Wi-Fi access
  • Airport lounge availability
  • Loyalty and elite status benefits
  • Ticket, seat and baggage costs

Travelers should also check their company’s booking policy. Some businesses have preferred airline agreements or limits on fares, cabin classes and change fees.

Which Airline Is Best for India–USA Business Travel?

United, Delta and American offer extensive domestic and international connections. Alaska and Southwest can help passengers reach some destinations within the United States. People flying between India and the USA should check connection times, baggage transfer rules, partner-airline policies and lounge access. They should choose a flexible ticket whenever possible because meetings and work schedules can change.

Business flyers should select an airline based on their regular routes, schedule, budget and company policy. Those planning a work trip can explore Indian Eagle deals to find affordable international flights between India and the USA.

The USA is a leading study destination for Indian students. US universities offer quality programs, modern facilities and many career opportunities. Students can choose bachelor’s, master’s and STEM programs based on their interests and career plans. Global Degrees helps students find the right university and plan their studies in the USA.

Why Indian Students Choose the USA

Indian students choose US universities because:

  • Employers and institutions worldwide recognize US degrees.
  • Universities offer a wide range of programs.
  • Students can access strong STEM and research opportunities.
  • Many courses include internships and projects.
  • Career centers help students prepare for job searches.
  • Students meet people from different countries.
  • Eligible students can apply for OPT and STEM OPT.

How to Choose a University

Do not choose a university only because of its ranking. Check the course, fees, location, scholarships, and job support.

Check the Total Cost:

Students should check all costs, including:

  • Tuition fees
  • Rent
  • Food
  • Health insurance
  • Transportation
  • Books
  • Personal expenses

Small cities may cost less than large cities like New York, Boston, or cities in California.

Look for Scholarships:

Scholarships can lower study costs. Students can apply for:

  • Merit scholarships
  • International student scholarships
  • Department scholarships
  • Teaching assistantships
  • Research assistantships
  • Tuition waivers

Apply early because scholarships have deadlines.

Check Job and Internship Support:

Universities can help students find internships and jobs. They may also help with resumes, interviews, and job fairs. Choose a course that offers practical projects, internships, and research work.

Check the Location:

Large cities may offer more job options, but they can be expensive. Small cities may offer lower living costs. Check the weather, safety, housing, transportation, and student support before applying.

Check the Course:

Review the subjects, faculty, laboratories, research centers and graduate outcomes. For example, students who want to study aerospace engineering can consider the University of Alabama in Huntsville. Students who want to study public health can consider the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

10 Popular Universities in the USA for Indian Students

  • University of Alabama at Birmingham
  • The University of Alabama
  • Auburn University
  • Arizona State University
  • University of Arizona
  • Arkansas State University
  • Troy University
  • Northern Arizona University
  • University of Central Arkansas
  • University of Alabama in Huntsville

Do not compare universities by tuition fees alone. Check the full cost for one year. This should include housing, food, transportation, and other expenses.

Jobs After Studying in the USA

Students can find jobs in technology, engineering, healthcare, business, and research. Popular jobs include:

  • Software Engineer
  • Data Analyst
  • Data Scientist
  • Business Analyst
  • Financial Analyst
  • Mechanical Engineer
  • Healthcare Administrator
  • Research Associate
  • Cybersecurity Specialist
  • Project Manager

Students should complete internships, attend job fairs, and use university career services.

The USA offers quality programs, recognized degrees, research opportunities and strong career prospects. Choose a university that matches your interests, budget and future goals. Global Degrees can help you find suitable study options and plan your education. Once you receive your admission offer and student visa, explore Indian Eagle deals to book affordable international flights between India and the USA.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can students apply without GRE or GMAT scores?

Yes. Some US universities do not ask for GRE or GMAT scores. Check the rules for your chosen course.

What are OPT and STEM OPT?

OPT allows eligible students to work in a job related to their course. STEM OPT gives eligible STEM students more time to work.

Do US universities offer campus housing?

Yes. Many universities offer campus housing. Apply early because rooms may fill quickly.

When should students start applying?

Start planning 12 to 18 months before the intake. This gives you time to prepare documents, apply for scholarships, and complete the visa process.

Qatar Airways has added Starlink Wi-Fi to its Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner fleet. With this upgrade, Qatar Airways now has 150 widebody aircraft with Starlink Wi-Fi. More than half of its Boeing 787 fleet offers the service. The rollout will give more passengers access to free, high-speed internet on long-haul international flights.

Qatar Airways Starlink on Boeing 787-9

The carrier first introduced Starlink in October 2024. The airline later added it to its Boeing 777, Airbus A350 and Boeing 787-8 aircraft. It is now the first airline to offer Starlink on a Boeing 787-9.It also completed the installation across its Boeing 787-8 fleet in seven months. Qatar Airways plans to equip its remaining Boeing 787 aircraft by the end of 2026.

What Can Passengers Do With Starlink Wi-Fi?

Starlink provides internet speeds of up to 500 Mbps on eligible flights. Passengers can use the connection at an altitude of around 35,000 feet to:

  • Send messages and emails
  • Browse websites and social media
  • Stream movies and videos
  • Download or upload files
  • Stay connected with family and friends
  • Complete office work during the flight
  • Join online meetings when conditions allow

Is This Wi-Fi Free?

The airline provides Starlink Wi-Fi free of charge on equipped aircraft. Passengers may need to log in or enroll in Qatar Airways Privilege Club to access it. Travelers can use the internet from boarding until arrival where local rules allow gate-to-gate connectivity. However, gate-to-gate internet may not be available at some airports due to local regulations.

The carrier may also change the scheduled aircraft for operational reasons. Passengers should check their flight details before departure to confirm whether their aircraft offers Starlink.

Benefits for India–USA Travelers

Qatar Airways connects travelers between India and the USA through Hamad International Airport in Doha. High-speed inflight Wi-Fi can improve these long journeys, especially for people who want to work, communicate or stream content during the flight. Passengers can access the service only when the airline operates a Starlink-equipped aircraft. An aircraft change could affect its availability, so travelers should confirm the latest details before their journey.

The Starlink-equipped Boeing 787-9 marks an important improvement in Qatar Airways’ inflight experience. Free high-speed Wi-Fi will help more passengers remain connected during long-distance travel.

If you are planning a trip, explore Indian Eagle deals to find affordable international flights between India and the USA.

New F-1 and J-1 Visa Rules 2026
Source: ChatGPT

Indian students studying in the United States may face new immigration rules from September 15, 2026. The US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is scheduled to set fixed stay periods for F-1 students and J-1 exchange visitors. Harvard University has advised its international community to review upcoming travel plans before the rule takes effect. Those who leave the US and return on or after September 15 may enter under the new system.

What Will Change Under the New Rule?

Currently, most F-1 and J-1 visa holders receive “D/S” on Form I-94. D/S means Duration of Status. It allows them to remain in the US while they continue an approved academic program, exchange activity or practical training and follow immigration requirements.

Under the new rule, Form I-94 will show the date until which a student can stay in the US. This date will usually match the program end date on Form I-20 or DS-2019. However, it will generally not exceed four years. This does not guarantee every international student a four-year stay. For example, a person enrolled in a two-year course may receive an admission period based on that course length.

Why Is September 15 Important?

F-1 and J-1 visa holders who remain in the US on September 15 and maintain valid status may qualify for transition protection. They can generally stay until the end date on their current I-20 or DS-2019, subject to the limits in the rule. International travel may change how these protections apply. Anyone who leaves the country and returns on or after September 15 may receive a new I-94 with a fixed expiration date. The new admission system may then apply.

Before planning a trip, travelers should review their immigration documents and speak with their university’s international office. The adviser can explain how departure and re-entry may affect an individual case.

Students May Need USCIS Approval for More Time

Anyone who cannot complete a course before the I-94 expiration date will generally need to apply to US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) for an Extension of Stay. USCIS may approve more time for a compelling academic reason, a documented medical condition or circumstances beyond the applicant’s control. Applicants should submit their requests before their authorized stay expires.

The process may require additional forms, supporting documents and fees. Updating the program end date on Form I-20 may not extend a person’s immigration status by itself.

How Will the Rule Affect OPT and STEM OPT?

The changes may also affect Optional Practical Training and STEM OPT applicants. Some may have to submit both an employment authorization application and an Extension of Stay request. Special transition provisions may cover certain applicants who submit their OPT or STEM OPT forms on or before September 15. Anyone planning practical training should contact their designated university official and begin the process early.

The rule also reduces the grace period from 60 days to 30 days for many F-1 visa holders under the fixed-date system. Eligible individuals covered by the transition provisions may keep the existing 60-day period. The J-1 grace period generally remains 30 days.

What Should Indian Students Do?

Before leaving the US, Indian students should:

  • Contact their university’s international office.
  • Check their passport and visa validity.
  • Review Form I-20 or DS-2019.
  • Confirm that they have a valid travel signature.
  • Download and check their latest Form I-94.
  • Review any pending OPT, STEM OPT or extension application.

After returning, travelers should download the new I-94 and check the visa category and Admit Until Date. They should report any incorrect information immediately.

The rule faces a legal challenge, so its status may change. Follow updates from DHS, USCIS and the university before making an important travel decision.

The new F-1 and J-1 visa rules may change how Indian students plan their stay and travel between India and the USA. Careful document checks and guidance from the university can help prevent problems. After confirming your plans, explore Indian Eagle deals to find affordable international flights between the USA and India.

Passenger numbers at US airports have grown rapidly in recent years. Many terminals now handle more people than planners originally expected. To meet this demand, aviation authorities are adding gates, security lanes, baggage systems, parking spaces and waiting areas. Some facilities are upgrading existing buildings, while others are replacing outdated terminals. Here are five major US airport expansion projects that aim to make travel easier.

Chicago O’Hare International Airport

Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD) welcomes more than 80 million travelers each year. It ranks among the busiest aviation hubs in the country and provides domestic and international connections.

The O’Hare 21 program will create nearly three million square feet of additional space and increase gate capacity by 25%. Construction crews are developing Concourse D, the facility’s first new concourse in more than 30 years. ORD has also expanded Terminal 5 and continues to upgrade Terminal 3 with additional gates and modern amenities.

San Diego International Airport

San Diego International Airport (SAN) handled 25.3 million travelers in 2025. Its original Terminal 1 opened in 1967 and operated for nearly 60 years. Over time, limited space, outdated security areas and fewer amenities made the building less suitable for modern travel.

San Diego decided to replace the old structure instead of making small upgrades. The first phase of the new Terminal 1 opened in September 2025 with 19 gates. It includes a spacious ticketing hall, 13 security lanes, seven baggage carousels and more dining and shopping choices. SAN opened three additional gates in spring 2026. It plans to add eight more by early 2028, bringing the total to 30.

Nashville International Airport

Nashville International Airport (BNA) serves more than 24.8 million people annually. Strong population growth, tourism and business activity have pushed traffic beyond earlier estimates.

BNA launched the New Horizon program to prepare for up to 40 million annual travelers. Its Central Core Enhancement project will improve access between ticketing, baggage claim and ground transportation areas. The development will add elevators and escalators to reduce crowding and help people move through the building more easily. BNA expects to finish several major projects between 2027 and 2029.

Austin-Bergstrom International Airport

Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) handles more than 20 million people each year. Austin’s growing population, technology sector and tourism industry have increased the demand for flights.

During peak hours, crowded ticket counters, security lines, baggage claim areas and roads can cause delays. The Journey With AUS program aims to address these problems by adding 32 gates. Concourse B will include 26, while Concourse M will provide six. AUS also plans to construct a new Arrivals and Departures Hall. It will feature a central TSA checkpoint, additional ticket counters, a larger baggage claim area, better road access and upgraded amenities.

Southwest Florida International Airport

Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) in Fort Myers welcomed more than 11.1 million people in 2025. It provides access to Fort Myers, Naples and other destinations along Florida’s Gulf Coast.

Growing demand has created a need for more gates, larger security areas and better facilities. RSW is expanding its terminal and constructing Concourse E. The work will improve baggage handling, create more shopping and dining space and provide a larger security checkpoint. These upgrades will help RSW manage busy travel periods, especially during Florida’s winter tourism season.

Why Are These Airport Expansions Important for Travelers?

These developments will add more gates, larger security checkpoints, efficient baggage systems and comfortable waiting areas. They may also reduce crowding and make flight connections easier.

However, ongoing construction could temporarily affect roads, parking facilities and walking routes. Before departure, travelers should review official updates, arrive early and follow signs inside the terminal.

If you are planning a trip, explore Indian Eagle for affordable USA to India flights and book your journey with confidence.

Also known as Eid-e-Milad or Mawlid al-Nabi, Milad-un-Nabi commemorates the birth of Prophet Muhammad, whom Muslims regard as the final prophet and messenger of God. The Arabic term Mawlid means “birth,” while Mawlid al-Nabi means “the birth of the Prophet.” The day falls in Rabi’ al-Awwal, the third month of the Islamic lunar calendar. Read on to find the Eid Milad-un-Nabi 2026 date in India, Islamic date, holiday status, Seerah, religious significance and observances.

When is Eid Milad-un-Nabi 2026?

Eid Milad-un-Nabi 2026 will be observed in India on Wednesday, August 26. Globally, the observance may fall on August 25, depending on local moon-sighting practices and Islamic calendars.

When was Prophet Muhammad born?

Traditional Islamic accounts place the Prophet Muhammad’s birth in Makkah around 570 CE, known as the Year of the Elephant. His exact birth date remains disputed. 12 Rabi’ al-Awwal is widely observed by Sunni Muslims, while many Twelver Shia Muslims mark 17 Rabi’ al-Awwal. Therefore, 12 Rabi’ al-Awwal is best described as a traditional date rather than a universally established historical date.

How is Milad-un-Nabi celebrated?

There is no single way to observe Eid Milad-un-Nabi. Common practices include Quran recitation, religious lectures, Salawat, Naat recitations, Seerah programs and community gatherings. In some places, people organize public processions. Mosques and homes may also be decorated with lights and banners. Charity and food distribution are another part of celebrations in many communities. These practices are not followed by every Muslim community. Local traditions can differ considerably.

Do all Muslims celebrate Milad-un-Nabi?

No. Muslims have different views on Mawlid. Many observe it as a time to remember Prophet Muhammad and his teachings, while others do not celebrate it. Some scholars also question its status as a religious festival. Therefore, Eid Milad-un-Nabi is observed differently across Muslim communities.

Why is 12 Rabi’ al-Awwal associated with Milad?

Rabi’ al-Awwal is the third month of the Islamic lunar calendar. Many Sunni communities traditionally associate 12 Rabi’ al-Awwal with the Prophet’s birth. However, historical sources contain different reports about the exact date.

Milad-un-Nabi 2026 holiday in India

August 26, 2026, is listed as Eid Milad-un-Nabi or Id-e-Milad in several official Indian holiday calendars. The Supreme Court, Incredible India, ISRO centers and the Andhra Pradesh government list the date as a holiday. Schools, private companies and other organizations may follow different schedules, so check your institution’s holiday calendar.

Why does the Milad-un-Nabi date change every year?

The Islamic calendar follows the lunar cycle. An Islamic year is shorter than the Gregorian year. Islamic months therefore move through different seasons over time. Moon-sighting practices can also affect when an Islamic date is officially observed. For 2026, India’s official calendars currently list Eid Milad-un-Nabi on August 26. Some government calendars explicitly note that Islamic holidays can change according to moon visibility.

What is the difference between Milad-un-Nabi and the two Eids?

Milad-un-Nabi is sometimes called Eid-e-Milad, but it is different from the two universally recognized Islamic Eid festivals. Eid al-Fitr marks the end of Ramadan. Eid al-Adha is associated with the Hajj season and the Islamic tradition of sacrifice. Milad-un-Nabi commemorates the birth of Prophet Muhammad. The way Mawlid is classified and observed differs among Muslim communities.

What is Seerah?

Seerah means the study of the life of Prophet Muhammad. It covers important parts of his life, including his childhood, the beginning of revelation, his mission in Makkah, the migration to Madinah and his later life. Seerah discussions are common during Milad gatherings because they allow people to learn about the Prophet’s character, actions and teachings.

As Eid Milad-un-Nabi 2026 approaches, August 26 will bring together millions of Muslims in India to remember the life and legacy of Prophet Muhammad. Known as Eid-e-Milad or Mawlid al-Nabi, the occasion carries different traditions across communities. For many, 12 Rabi ul Awwal 2026 (Eid Milad un Nabi) is a time to remember the Prophet’s teachings, practice compassion and strengthen community bonds through prayers, charity and gatherings.

On August 19, 2026, Lufthansa operated its first passenger flight with the new Lufthansa Group Wi-Fi powered by Starlink. The aircraft was an Airbus A320neo registered D-AINM. It operated flight LH234 from Frankfurt to Rome, departing Frankfurt at 12:15 p.m. At an altitude of around 10,000 meters, Lufthansa Airlines CEO Jens Ritter activated the new system, officially beginning the rollout.

How fast is Lufthansa’s new Starlink internet?

Lufthansa describes the new connection as high-speed broadband internet capable of supporting applications that traditionally require a strong connection on the ground.

Passengers can use it for:

  • Web browsing
  • Video streaming
  • Messaging
  • Cloud-based work
  • Real-time collaboration
  • Other high-bandwidth applications

Lufthansa says the connection can, in many cases, be faster than the internet connection passengers have at home or in their offices. The technology uses Starlink’s low-Earth-orbit satellite network, which is designed to provide higher bandwidth and lower latency than many conventional satellite-based aircraft connectivity systems.

Is Lufthansa Starlink Wi-Fi free?

Yes, for eligible passengers. Lufthansa Group Wi-Fi is available free of charge to Miles & More members and Travel ID users, regardless of travel class. That means eligible passengers in Economy can use the service just like passengers in premium cabins. Passengers need to sign in using their Travel ID or Miles & More membership to access the complimentary service.

Does it work in every cabin?

Yes. Lufthansa says the new Wi-Fi is available across all travel classes, from Economy through First Class, on aircraft equipped with the system. The important distinction is that not every Lufthansa aircraft has Starlink yet. The rollout is still in its early stages.

How many Lufthansa aircraft will get Starlink?

The project is much larger than the initial A320neo launch. Lufthansa Group plans to equip approximately 850 aircraft across its airlines with Starlink by 2029. The company says this would make Lufthansa Group the largest airline group in Europe to deploy this high-speed connectivity technology across such a large fleet. The rollout will cover both existing aircraft and new aircraft entering the fleet.

Which airlines will get Starlink?

The technology is being introduced across the wider Lufthansa Group. The airlines preparing for the rollout include:

  • Lufthansa
  • SWISS
  • Austrian Airlines
  • Brussels Airlines
  • ITA Airways
  • Edelweiss
  • Discover Airlines
  • Air Dolomiti
  • Lufthansa City Airlines
  • Eurowings

The entire Lufthansa Group fleet is targeted for completion by 2029.

When will more Lufthansa aircraft get Starlink?

Lufthansa says up to 10 additional A320-family aircraft operated by Lufthansa and Lufthansa City Airlines are planned to receive the technology during 2026. Installations are primarily being carried out at Lufthansa Technik in Berlin, with the work coordinated with scheduled aircraft maintenance and technical inspections to reduce downtime. The broader rollout will then continue across the Lufthansa Group fleet.

Can passengers stream movies and videos?

Yes. The new connection is specifically designed to support video streaming and other bandwidth-intensive services. Lufthansa says passengers can watch content, work in the cloud and use other high-speed applications during the flight. However, Lufthansa has established onboard usage rules to keep the cabin environment comfortable.

Passengers are asked to:

  • Use headphones when watching videos or listening to audio.
  • Avoid voice calls and video calls.
  • Avoid live streaming from the aircraft.

The restrictions are intended to prevent passengers’ internet use from disturbing other travelers.

Can passengers use multiple devices?

Lufthansa’s current Wi-Fi information says passengers can use the service on all their devices, providing flexibility for people carrying phones, tablets and laptops. The system is intended to provide a continuous connection from departure through arrival on equipped flights.

Can passengers check whether their flight has Starlink?

Not yet in a comprehensive way. Lufthansa currently says the service is available only on selected aircraft and flights, and it is gradually being rolled out. At the beginning of the rollout, passengers cannot yet reliably check availability before a flight. Lufthansa says a flight-search function will be introduced as the service becomes available on more aircraft. So simply booking a Lufthansa flight does not currently guarantee Starlink Wi-Fi.

What happens to FlyNet?

Lufthansa is effectively moving toward a new connectivity experience through Lufthansa Group Wi-Fi powered by Starlink. The airline’s current internet overview lists two onboard options:

  1. Lufthansa Group Wi-Fi powered by Starlink
  2. FlyNet

The new Starlink-based service is being progressively introduced while the fleet is upgraded.

 Premium Economy Airlines

Premium economy offers a comfortable middle ground between economy and business class. It usually costs less than business class but provides more space and better services than standard economy. Some airlines also provide priority boarding, additional baggage and dedicated check-in counters. These benefits can make a major difference on long-haul international flights. However, every airline offers a different experience. Here are seven airlines that offer notable premium economy cabins.

Delta Premium Select

Delta Premium Select is available on selected international routes and widebody aircraft. It offers wider seats, deeper recline and additional legroom. Selected seats include adjustable leg rests and footrests. Passengers can also receive Sky Priority services, including faster check-in, priority boarding and expedited baggage handling. Delta now sells different Premium Select fare types, so baggage and flexibility benefits can vary.

Cathay Pacific

Cathay Pacific offers a separate premium economy cabin on selected long-haul aircraft. Its refreshed Boeing 777-300ER product includes seats with privacy wings, calf rests and footrests. Passengers can also use a large entertainment screen with Bluetooth connectivity and USB charging. Airport benefits may include dedicated check-in, priority boarding and an increased checked baggage allowance.

Virgin Atlantic Premium

Virgin Atlantic calls its premium economy cabin “Premium.” Depending on the aircraft, seats offer up to 38 inches of pitch. Passengers receive dedicated airport check-in, priority boarding and an increased checked baggage allowance on eligible fares. The onboard experience includes a welcome drink, enhanced dining and charging facilities.

Qantas Premium Economy

Qantas offers a separate premium economy cabin on eligible Boeing 787 Dreamliners and Airbus A380s. Its seats provide more width and legroom than regular economy. Each seat includes an adjustable headrest, footrest, storage space and charging ports. Passengers may also receive priority check-in, priority boarding, upgraded meals, noise-canceling headphones and an amenity kit.

Singapore Airlines Premium Economy

Singapore Airlines offers Premium Economy on selected Airbus A350, A380 and Boeing 777 aircraft. Its seats include calf and footrests, personal storage, charging ports and large entertainment screens. A major benefit is the airline’s “Book the Cook” service. Premium Economy passengers on eligible flights can reserve a main course before departure. The airline also provides priority check-in, boarding and baggage handling.

Emirates Premium Economy

Emirates Premium Economy features leather seats, adjustable headrests, calf rests and footrests. Passengers also receive large pillows and spacious dining tables. The airline serves multicourse meals on china tableware with stainless steel cutlery. Its beverage menu includes sparkling wine and other premium selections. Emirates plans to expand its Premium Economy network to 99 destinations by the end of 2026. Availability will depend on the route and aircraft.

British Airways World Traveler Plus

British Airways calls its premium economy cabin “World Traveler Plus.” It provides a smaller, separate cabin with wider seats, greater recline and additional legroom. Seats include adjustable headrests, footrests and in-seat power. Most routes also include priority boarding and an additional checked bag.

How to Choose the Best Premium Economy Flight

Do not compare airlines by price alone. Review the following details before booking:

  • Aircraft type and seat configuration
  • Seat pitch, width and recline
  • Leg rest and footrest availability
  • Baggage allowance
  • Priority airport services
  • Meal and beverage options
  • Charging and entertainment facilities
  • Seat-selection charges
  • Change and cancellation conditions
  • Price difference from economy and business class

Is Premium Economy Worth the Extra Cost?

Premium economy can provide good value on overnight and long-haul flights. The extra space may help passengers rest more comfortably, especially when a journey lasts eight hours or longer. However, the cabin may not justify a large price difference on a short daytime flight. Compare the upgrade cost with discounted business-class fares before booking.

The best premium economy airlines combine comfortable seats with helpful airport services, upgraded meals and additional baggage. The right choice depends on the route, aircraft and fare.

Travelers planning an international journey can explore Indian Eagle deals. Compare airfares and choose an itinerary that matches your comfort needs and budget.

Delhi Is the Only Indian Airport in the Top 20

Delhi was the only airport from India to rank among the world’s 20 busiest airports based on total passenger traffic. Its position reflects the scale of air travel through India’s capital and the airport’s role as a major domestic and international gateway. Delhi connects travelers to destinations across North America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East, while also serving a large domestic market.

Global Airport Traffic Reaches 9.8 Billion

ACI estimates that airports worldwide handled approximately 9.8 billion passengers in 2025. Global passenger traffic increased by 3.7% compared with 2024 and was 6.5% higher than the 2019 pre-pandemic level.
