Prayagraj is set to receive improved air connectivity ahead of the festive season as IndiGo and Akasa Air add new flights to major cities, including  Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Hyderabad. The expansion will give passengers additional travel choices during the busy holiday period.

IndiGo Adds More Flights From Prayagraj to Major Cities

IndiGo will introduce four additional weekly services from Prayagraj Airport starting October 25. The new services will strengthen connections between Prayagraj and major metropolitan cities across India. The carrier will add additional services connecting Prayagraj with Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru. It will operate extra Mumbai flights on Monday and Wednesday, a Hyderabad service on Tuesday, and a Bengaluru flight on Friday. Along with adding new routes, IndiGo will discontinue its Thursday Prayagraj to Bhubaneswar flight.

Festive Season Demand Drives More Flight Services

Airlines are increasing flight services from Prayagraj as passenger demand rises during the festive season. Diwali,  Dussehra, and Chhath are among the busiest travel periods in India, with people traveling for religious visits, family gatherings, holiday plans, and business trips. Additional flights from Prayagraj will help passengers find more convenient travel options and reduce dependence on connecting routes.

More Travel Options for Prayagraj Passengers

The improvement in air services from Prayagraj will make travel easier for passengers before the festive season begins. With additional flights to major Indian cities, travelers will have more flexibility while planning their journeys. The expansion also strengthens the role of Prayagraj Airport as an important regional travel hub.

The addition of new IndiGo and Akasa Air services will improve travel from Prayagraj ahead of the festive season. As demand for domestic flights in India continues to rise, travelers can expect improved connectivity, more convenient schedules, and easier access to major cities from Prayagraj.

Travelers planning international trips can check out Indian Eagle Deals to compare fares and find competitive prices on flights. As airlines continue expanding their networks, passengers can explore more destinations worldwide while saving on airfare.

Thailand will reduce the visa-free stay for Indian travellers from 60 days to 30 days, effective September 15, 2026. Indian passport holders can still visit Thailand without applying for a visa in advance, but their initial permitted stay will be shorter. Thailand introduced the 60-day visa-exemption scheme in 2024 and is now replacing it with a 30-day stay for eligible tourists.

What Is Changing for Indian Travellers?

Indian citizens who arrive in Thailand from September 15, 2026, can stay visa-free for up to 30 days for tourism. Travellers who enter Thailand before September 15 under the existing 60-day scheme will keep the period of stay granted when they entered. Their permitted stay will not automatically be reduced after the new rule begins. In simple terms:

  • Arrival on or before September 14, 2026: Existing 60-day visa-free rules apply
  • Arrival from September 15, 2026: Up to 30 days of visa-free stay apply

Why Is Thailand Reducing the Visa-Free Stay?

Thailand continues to depend heavily on tourism, and Indian travellers remain an important part of its tourism market. However, Thai authorities said some foreign nationals misused the long visa-free stay period.

The government aims to prevent people from using tourist entry to work illegally, run unregistered businesses or take part in criminal activities. The rule change focuses on controlling misuse while continuing to welcome genuine holidaymakers and short-term visitors. For most tourists, a 30-day Thailand trip is still enough time to explore popular destinations such as Bangkok, Phuket, Pattaya, Krabi, Chiang Mai and Koh Samui.

Can Indian Travellers Extend Their Thailand Stay?

Travellers who want to stay longer may request a one-time extension of up to 30 additional days. Thai immigration authorities decide whether to approve the request. If you plan to stay in Thailand for more than 30 days, check the available Thai tourist visa options before booking your trip. Do not rely on an extension until immigration officially approves it.

Thailand Land-Border Entry Rules

Thailand has also introduced limits for visa-exempt travellers entering through land-border checkpoints. Most passengers can use visa-free entry through land borders only twice in a calendar year. This limit does not apply in the same way to passengers arriving by air. Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore have exceptions to the land-border entry rule. If you are planning to enter Thailand from a neighbouring country by road, you should check the latest entry requirements before travelling.

Who Is Affected by Thailand’s New Visa Rules?

The new rules affect 60 countries and territories, including:

  • India
  • United States
  • United Kingdom
  • Canada
  • Australia
  • United Arab Emirates
  • Japan
  • Singapore
  • Malaysia
  • France
  • Germany
  • Italy

What Indian Tourists Should Check Before Travelling to Thailand

Before flying to Thailand, Indian travellers should:

  • Check whether the arrival date falls before or after September 15, 2026
  • Ensure their passport meets Thailand’s validity requirements
  • Confirm airline and immigration requirements before departure
  • Keep proof of return or onward travel and hotel bookings ready
  • Complete the Thailand Digital Arrival Card, if required for their trip
  • Check baggage rules, transit requirements and travel insurance options
  • Avoid overstaying the period granted by Thai immigration

Thailand visa-free travel for Indians will continue, but the initial permitted stay will be reduced to 30 days from September 15, 2026. The new rule will mainly affect travellers planning long vacations, extended family visits or back-to-back visa-free stays.

If you are planning a vacation soon, explore Indian Eagle deals and find convenient international flights that match your travel plans.

Ladakh is exploring a simpler permit system for foreign visitors. The administration may introduce one Protected Area Permit (PAP) for travel across much of the Union Territory. It aims to make travel easier while continuing to meet security requirements. The proposal is still under consideration. Foreign travelers must follow the current permit rules until Ladakh authorities announce an official change.

Ladakh May Introduce One Permit for Foreign Travelers

Foreign nationals need permits to visit several parts of Ladakh, especially areas near international borders. At present, visitors may need to complete different procedures based on the places they plan to visit. The proposed single PAP could cover most of Ladakh. However, specifically restricted areas would remain excluded. Authorities would clearly list these locations on the permit.

One permit could reduce paperwork and help travelers plan their Ladakh trip more easily. It may also reduce the need to apply for multiple clearances before visiting popular destinations.

Why Ladakh Is Reviewing the Permit Process

Ladakh attracts visitors with its mountain views, Buddhist monasteries, high-altitude lakes and adventure activities. However, some areas require strict security checks because of their location near international borders. The administration wants to create a more convenient system without compromising safety or regulatory compliance. A better process could reduce repeated document checks and save time for travelers.

Airport Verification Desks May Help Visitors

Ladakh may set up special airport counters to register and verify foreign visitors. These desks could help officials check permits and travel documents in an organized manner. The plan includes separate arrangements for travelers who require additional verification under revised standard operating procedures. If introduced, these desks could help visitors complete permit checks more easily soon after arriving in Leh.

Facial Recognition and Self-Registration Under Review

Officials are examining the use of facial-recognition technology and self-registration facilities at selected checkpoints. Self-registration may allow visitors to complete some verification steps more quickly. Facial recognition could help authorities improve identity checks and record management. However, Ladakh has not announced a launch date or final process for these facilities.

What Foreign Travelers Should Do Now

Foreign travelers should not assume that the single permit system has started. The current PAP and RAP rules remain in effect until the administration issues an official notification. Before traveling to Ladakh, visitors should:

  • Check the latest Ladakh permit requirements
  • Confirm whether their planned destination needs a permit
  • Carry their passport, visa and permit documents
  • Follow instructions at airports and checkpoints
  • Check with their travel provider for current entry rules

Travelers should also allow extra time for verification when visiting protected or restricted areas.

A Simpler Ladakh Travel Experience in the Future

A single permit, airport verification desks and fewer unnecessary checkpoints could make Ladakh travel more convenient for foreign visitors. However, the administration has not implemented these measures yet.

Until officials announce new rules, travelers should plan their trip according to the existing PAP and RAP requirements. If the proposal moves forward, it could help international visitors explore Ladakh’s natural beauty, culture and adventure destinations more easily while respecting the region’s security rules.

Houston Airports is celebrating the 45th anniversary of the Disney-built IAH Subway from August 17–21, 2026, with its IAH Subway Week. The celebration includes historical displays, airport announcements, commemorative trading cards and digital storytelling. The Subway is free and open to the public because it operates outside security.  You do not need a plane ticket to ride it.

Where Does the IAH Subway Go?

The underground Subway operates outside security (pre-security). It connects:

  • Terminal A
  • Terminal B
  • Terminal C
  • Terminal D/E
  • Houston Airport Marriott

A trip between Subway stations takes approximately three minutes, while the complete two-mile loop takes about 19 minutes. The Houston Airport Marriott is located between Terminals B and C and is one of the Subway stops.

Can Anyone Ride the IAH Subway?

Yes. The IAH Subway is open to the public and does not require a boarding pass or plane ticket. Since it operates outside security, passengers can use it even if they are not flying that day. The service is also free, making it a convenient way to travel between airport terminals.

The IAH Subway operates daily during the following hours:

  • Opening time: 3:15 a.m.
  • Closing time: 12:15 a.m.
  • Operating days: Every day
  • Access: Open to the public
  • Cost: Free

The Subway remains closed between 12:15 a.m. and 3:15 a.m. each day.

IAH Subway vs. Skyway

The IAH Subway and Skyway both connect the terminals at George Bush Intercontinental Airport, but they serve passengers at different stages of their journey.

IAH Subway: The Subway runs underground and is available outside security. It is free to use and travels at speeds of up to 15 mph. Trains arrive about every three minutes, making it a convenient option for passengers who need to move between terminals before going through TSA.

IAH Skyway: The Skyway operates above ground and is located inside security. It is also free and departs approximately every two minutes, making it particularly useful for passengers who have already cleared TSA and need to reach another terminal.

45 years after opening, the Disney-designed IAH Subway is still moving millions of passengers beneath Houston’s airport. And during IAH Subway Week, visitors don’t even need a plane ticket to experience this unusual piece of Disney transportation history.

  • Keep bags off subway seats: Hold your belongings on your lap or between your feet, especially during rush hour.
  • Skip unusually empty subway cars: An unusually empty car may be empty for a reason.

  • Give cab drivers cross streets: Tell yellow cab drivers the nearest cross streets along with your destination.
  • Respect personal space: Give people room and avoid unnecessary physical contact.
  • Keep entrances clear: Don’t stop directly in front of stores, restaurants, subway entrances, or building entrances.
  • Keep noise down on public transportation: Use headphones and avoid loud conversations.

American Airlines has updated its 24-hour refund policy, making it more restrictive for passengers who book flights within seven days of departure. The revised policy affects travelers making last-minute bookings within seven days of departure, bringing American’s rules in line with the minimum requirements set by the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) and policies followed by airlines such as United Airlines.

If you’re planning a spontaneous trip or booking an emergency flight, here’s what you need to know about the American Airlines new refund rules.

New American Airlines Refund Policy

Effective July 29, 2026, passengers who book a flight within seven days of departure are no longer eligible for a full refund if they cancel within 24 hours of booking. Previously, American Airlines allowed customers to receive a full refund if the reservation had been made at least two days before departure.

Under the updated policy, only tickets purchased seven or more days before the scheduled flight qualify for the airline’s 24-hour refund guarantee. As a result, travelers making last-minute bookings within seven days of travel are no longer eligible for this refund benefit.

24-Hour Fare Hold Option Remains Available

Although the refund window has narrowed, American Airlines continues to allow customers to hold a reservation for 24 hours without payment. This option lets travelers:

  • Lock in the current fare.
  • Finalize travel plans before paying.
  • Avoid losing money if plans change within the hold period.

The hold option can be particularly useful for passengers booking expensive international itineraries or coordinating travel with others.

How the New Rule Affects Basic Economy Tickets

For Basic Economy fares, the impact can be even greater. If a Basic Economy ticket booked within seven days of departure is canceled:

  • The ticket generally remains subject to the fare’s standard restrictions.
  • Many Basic Economy tickets are non-refundable.
  • Eligible passengers may receive travel credits only in limited situations, while some travelers could forfeit the ticket value altogether.

DOT Rules on 24-Hour Flight Cancellations

The DOT’s consumer protection rule applies to flights to, from, or within the United States when tickets are purchased directly from the airline. Under the regulation:

  • The booking must be made at least seven days before departure.
  • Airlines must offer either:
    • A full refund if the ticket is canceled within 24 hours of purchase, or
    • A free 24-hour fare hold before payment.
  • The rule generally does not apply to tickets purchased through third-party travel agencies or online travel agencies.

How to Avoid Losing Money on Flight Cancellations

To avoid unexpected costs:

  • Book at least seven days before departure if possible.
  • Double-check travel dates before purchasing last-minute tickets.
  • Use American Airlines’ free 24-hour fare hold if you’re not ready to commit.
  • Review fare conditions carefully, especially for Basic Economy.
  • If flexibility is important, compare cancellation policies before booking.

American Airlines says the update aligns with long-standing U.S. DOT regulations. While the 24-hour refund window is now more limited for last-minute bookings, travelers can still use the airline’s free 24-hour fare hold when booking at least seven days before departure. Planning ahead and reviewing fare rules can help avoid unexpected costs.
