Lakshadweep eases tourist entry permit rules in 2026

The administration has simplified its entry process for resident and non-resident Indians (NRIs) under the revised Lakshadweep tourist permit rules 2026, effective from 29 April. You no longer need a local sponsor or a Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) to visit Lakshadweep Islands known as Coral Paradise. Security verification is now being handled directly by Lakshadweep Police after the application is submitted. However, entry permits remain mandatory for all non-islanders, including NRIs visiting the Union Territory.

Indian passport holders including both residents and non-residents must apply for a tourist entry permit to Lakshadweep, at least, 14 days before their travel schedule and provide the below itinerary details during the application process.

Authorities have clarified that both resident Indians and NRIs can visit only the islands approved in their permit.
