Indian\u2019s first Nobel Laureate in Peace, she was the mother of orphans and foundlings.<\/strong> A film festival on Mother Teresa\u2019s glorious life and noble teachings will be held in 50 countries including India to mark her canonization in September 2016.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Kolkata is the first to host the Mother Teresa International Film Festival for three days commencing on August 26<\/strong> since Kolkata was the epicenter of Mother Teresa\u2019s worldwide philanthropic work for street children. After its inauguration in <span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><a style=\"color: #ff6600;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.indianeagle.com\/cheap-flights-to-india-in\/cheap-flights-to-kolkata-ccu\/\" target=\"_blank\">Kolkata<\/a><\/span>, the film festival will travel across India and then around the world for the next 6 months.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.indianeagle.com\/travelbeats\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/Mother-Teresa-International-Film-Festival-2016-in-India3.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-14034 size-full\" title=\"Mother Teresa International Film Festival to Screen 20 Films in India and 50 Other Countries\" src=\"https:\/\/www.indianeagle.com\/travelbeats\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/Mother-Teresa-International-Film-Festival-2016-in-India3.jpg\" alt=\"Mother teresa film festival, international film festivals, mother teresa life, teachings of mother teresa\" width=\"652\" height=\"475\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Organized by the World Catholic Association for Communication\u2019s India Chapter, <strong>the film festival will be screening a repertoire of 20 movies including feature films and documentaries based on the enlightening, <span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><a style=\"color: #ff6600;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.indianeagle.com\/travelbeats\/tag\/inspirational-stories\/\" target=\"_blank\">inspirational stories<\/a><\/span> of Mother Teresa\u2019s life.<\/strong> The list of films for screening has not been finalized yet. It will include two films for world premieres.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, Indore, <span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><a style=\"color: #ff6600;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.indianeagle.com\/travelbeats\/udaipur-travel-guide-things-to-do\/\" target=\"_blank\">Udaipur<\/a><\/span>, Ranchi, Patna and Guwahati are other Indian cities to hold the Mother Teresa International Film Festival.<\/strong> The film festival will make rounds of 50 other countries, including the United Kingdom, Australia, Ireland, Thailand, China, Myanmar, Italy, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><em>Memories of Mother<\/em> and<em> Love Till It Hurts<\/em> are the two films selected for world premieres<\/strong> during the fourth edition of the Mother Teresa film festival. The former is directed by a filmmaker from London and the latter is made by Pauline Sisters.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Most of the movies to be screened are documentaries either based on or inspired by the eventful life of the Roman Catholic Nun who spent her life in India from 1929 till her last breath in 1997. <strong><em>Making of a Saint<\/em> and <em>In the Name of God\u2019s Poor<\/em> are the most remarkable documentaries on her.<\/strong> <strong>Charlie Chaplin\u2019s daughter Geraldine played Mother Teresa in both.<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Apart from the films on Mother Teresa, the film festival will also screen few movies like My Karma, a Bengali film, which embody her noble teachings.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>The organizers of the festival have reportedly decided on the screening of <em>Mother Teresa: The Legacy<\/em> by the Emmy Award-winning filmmaker duo: Ann and Jeannette Petrie.<\/strong> The film chronicles Mother Teresa\u2019s philanthropic journey from Kolkata to the rest of the world, through a number of interviews and video footages. <em>Mother Teresa: The Legacy<\/em> was screened on the occasion of her beatification in Rome in 2003.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Mother Teresa is a true embodiment of <span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><a style=\"color: #ff6600;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.indianeagle.com\/travelbeats\/tag\/philanthropy\/\" target=\"_blank\">selfless service and charity to the poor<\/a><\/span> worldwide.
