The headline is very misleading. “This Indian American Family’s …”That 17 year kid is a dependent not American, so the treatment is legit and happening to others at different level and different people all over the countries. Look what they doing at Mexico border. Don’t make a big deal as you came back at least. Minor kids at border are getting separated with their parents never to meet.

Like someone said, don’t call this your home until you get your Citizenship. Be happy that USA allows us to buy home/car and make living here even if its temporary.

Of course only citizen can call it home… Any other visa is a outsider and after 2016 changes everything is a deadlock… Doesn’t matter if you write a letter to President.. they probably don’t even read it when they look at your name

Perhaps it is best to remember that an H1B visa is a “temporary” visa. Do not start calling it your home, till you have been approved for permanent residence.
