In reply to reva. Hi Reva! Given the layover as long as 18 hours, you need to contact the airline and check whether your mother would have to spend the layover time airside or landside. Whether she requires a transit visa or not, it depends on that.

My mother is traveling BA with B2 visa and layover in London is 18 hours, does she need a transit visa, also are there any hotels inside airport that she can stay since the layover is too long?

I’m a valid US visa holder. Though the visa stamp on the passport has expired I’ve a valid I797 extension. I’ll be transitting through LHR on Virgin on the airside with a layover of 4 hours. Do I still need a transit visa?
