Bathukamma celebrations in USA are riding the waves of official recognition by several US cities and states. Integral to the cultural identity of Telugu Indians, Bathukamma coincides with the blooming of gardens across the US every fall. Telugu families across America recreate the festive spirit of Telangana, with women singing and dancing around flower stacks that rise like temple towers.
These US cities and states have recognized Bathukamma
Bathukamma has grown from a Telugu festival to one of the most vibrant Indian cultural celebrations in America. Meaning “Mother Goddess Come Alive”, it honors Goddess Parvati and symbolizes the deep connection between earth, water, and humanity. Several US states and cities including North Carolina, Texas, Georgia, California, New York, Detroit, Chicago, DMV region, and Seattle have recognized Bathukamma as ‘Festival of Life’.
Bathukamma celebrations light up wherever Telugu immigrants live in their adopted home – the US. Travel Beats, a one-stop portal for Indian Diaspora stories and US-India travel news, recommends some of the best Bathukamma 2026 celebrations in USA.
